TGA Guideline Changes

Therapeutic Goods Association (TGA) messaging updates regarding advertising cosmetic injectables have come into effect, and have changed the way we talk about these services on the website and social media.

These reforms aim to resolve inconsistencies in the language used around prescription medicines, and to ensure their use or supply isn’t being advertised or promoted. These medications carry higher risks and decisions regarding treatments should only be made by a health professional during personalised consults.

The following changes will be made on our social media and website:

  • We will no longer be using terms that reference treatments using prescription medicines, such as dermal filler or anti-wrinkle injections.
  • We will no longer list prices or the ml amount of cosmetic injectables on our website.

However, we will:

  • Continue to create educational content focusing on concerns.
  • Focus on consults as the first step to address your concerns, including consults for wrinkle reduction, aesthetics, or lip enhancement. This has been part of our practice for a long time, and something we will continue to do.

At Ocean Cosmetics we have always been an advocate for thorough consultation and planning ahead of cosmetic treatments, and we continue to be committed to ensuring your safety is our priority.

If you have any questions regarding these updates, please get in touch with us calling your local clinic or sending us an email.
