Fraxel Laser treatments involve penetrating deep into the dermal layer to stimulate new collagen. Because it is a deep treatment, we numb your skin up to an hour before treatment. Once numb, the Fraxel is rolled over the skin. It looks like a bright red light. The treatment time usually is around 15-30 minutes.

The most common side effects include swelling and redness, which subsides after a few days. Temporary side effects can include minor itching, dry skin, peeling and flaking. Reduce these side effects post-treatments with LED Healite treatments.

Fraxel results are both immediate and progressive. It’s possible to see an improvement in the area within a few days of treatment as the skin starts to heal. Over the next two to three months, you will continue to see improvements as the collagen regenerates during this time.

Results can last indefinitely, depending on the individual. Maintenance is recommended once or twice a year to keep the skin looking fresh.

Downtime can range from three to five days for less aggressive treatment or seven to ten days for more aggressive treatment. Your skin may look pink and flaky as the pigment changes over two weeks.

Your skin will be numbed for an hour or more before the treatment. Most patients experience a slight prickling sensation with non-ablative fractional lasers like Fraxel. However, with ablative lasers, you might experience increasing heat and pain. If required, use cold compresses and over-the-counter medication to ease the pain.
