Lightsheer Hair Removal

At Ocean Cosmetics, we use Lumenis LightSheer Desire, it is one of the most effective Laser Hair removal treatments on the market today. The technology is a state-of-the-art diode laser with vacuum-assist technology to remove unwanted hair faster and more comfortably than other available methods. Lightsheer Laser hair removal uses a single wavelength of light to target the hair follicle.

The main difference between the two is that Lightsheer Laser hair removal emits a single, precise wavelength. It’s optimised for maximum follicle absorption, meaning that fewer treatments are needed for effective results as opposed to the number of treatments required when using IPL.

IPL uses a broad spectrum of high-intensity light, sending out multiple wavelengths. When receiving IPL, only some of these wavelengths actually reach the hair follicle. This means that more treatments are required to get the same results as Lightsheer Laser hair removal.

The most common side effects are some redness and a slight sunburn sensation.

You may notice a reduction of hair growth after six to eight weeks post-treatment. The treatment area, hair density and hair colour will usually determine the number of treatments needed.

The duration of the appointment depends on the area being treated.

Generally, a permanent hair reduction is achieved within six to ten treatments. Maintenance treatments may be required.

Depending on the area of treatment, please allow for one to two days for the redness to settle.
