Chemical Peels: The Phoenix of Facials

Watch your skin rebirth, regenerate and rise from the ashes with Chemical Peels.

Chemical peels are results-oriented corrective treatments that remove dry, dull skin cells, and reveal smoother, more radiant skin beneath the surface. They are a great cost and time effective way to achieve your skin goals with minimal downtime, and without breaking the bank!

What happens in a Chemical Peel?

The process involves applying a custom peel formula to the superficial and damaged outer layer of skin. The skin then, in some cases, crusts, scales, and peels over several days – allowing a brighter more beautiful version of you to emerge!

The new skin that grows in its place is softer, smoother, and has fewer imperfections.

What Chemical Peel should you get?

We are all created as individuals – and our skin is no exception! That is why we customise your peel formula to suit your skin concerns! Our experienced Ocean Cosmetics therapists will assess your skin and create a tailored treatment for your chemical peel.

Our custom peel formulas cater for oily skin, dry skin, combo skin and sensitive skin. Common exfoliants found in chemical peels include Lactic Acid and Salicylic Acid – which have proven to be effective in reducing the appearance of premature ageing such as age spots, as well as rough skin texture and acne.

There are different levels of Chemical Peels
• Superficial peels, this penetrates the first few layers of skin.
• Medium peels, to reach the middle and outer layer.
• Deep peels, which fully penetrates the middle layer of the skin.

At Ocean Cosmetics we mostly use superficial chemical peels – aimed at the outermost layer of skin – using mild acids like alpha-hydroxy acid to gently exfoliate.

Our most popular Superficial Peels:
AHAs – Alpha Hydroxy Acids
Our AHA peel gently exfoliates and retextures the skin over a few months. This allows dead skin cells to be loosened is helpful in stabilizing oily or acne-prone skin. This super superficial treatment can even out skin tone and pigmentation and enhance collagen production!

BHA – Beta Hydroxy Acid
Another of our superficial peels – Salicylic Acid (BHA) – can be used for sensitive, inflamed skin as it has the most anti-inflammatory properties out of all peels
BHA peels can improve the appearance of acne scars, fine lines, uneven skin tones and pigmentation. We recommend a course of about 4 peels to see the full effects of this treatment – all they build up over time!

TCA Trichloroacetic Acid
TCA peels can be used to treat pigmentation, scarring and wrinkles. This peel works its magic by clearing away dead skin cells and revealing smoother skin layers below.

Jessners or modified Jessners
From treating acne to reducing the appearance of pigmentation and scars, the Jessner peel can leave you with smoother, more even-toned skin.

Cosmelan Peel
Cosmelan is a peel procedure designed to reduce surface pigment, followed by a unique skincare regime to continue the pigment reduction over three months. This treatment reduces melanin overproduction at the melanocyte. The Cosmelan Peel is one our latest and greatest treatments at Ocean Cosmetics!

A chemical peel could be recommended for people with these skin concerns:
• Anti-ageing
