Mesotherapy was invented many years ago in France by Dr Michel Pistor and has become one of the most popular non-surgical aesthetic procedures in Europe and Asia. It uses a potent cocktail of vitamins, enzymes, minerals and peptides to rejuvenate and tighten skin by boosting production of collagen and elastin. How does it work?
All skin types are different so before commencing the treatment Ocean Cosmetics say it’s essential to thoroughly assess your skin type and choose the ingredients depending on the indications and specific patient condition. These ingredients are delivered either using a Mesogun, infused with micro needling, injected with small meso needles or using a new special device.

What does the procedure involve?
Depending on what you are having treated, the injections or needling are given at different depths (around 0.5mm to 2mm) into your skin. Each injection inserts a small amount of the potent cocktail of ingredients into your skin so it can work it’s magic.
Again, depending on what you are having treated it is usually recommended you have at least 2 – 3 treatments to get the desired effect. Initially it is suggested treatments are spaced at monthly intervals.
It is not said to be painful however many patients report feeling a slight tingling on the injection/needling site.
There is minimal downtime and most patients can resume their normal activities straight after the treatment, however some patients may experience redness, some swelling and bruising, but these are generally able to be covered up by makeup and a scarf and should disappear in a day or two.
What actually are the ingredients used in MesoGlow?

Ali’s Story
I was a bit hesitant about MesoGlow as I knew very little about the treatment, but if Dr. Gina says it’s good, it must be good! I’ve had a range of treatments before, but not skin needling, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.
Dr Gina and my therapist Hayley chose a custom mix of DMAE, Vitamin A, E, C, Hyaluronic acid and depigmentation serum containing Tranexamic Acid and Glutathione to target my melasma, dehydration and open pores.
We started with some before pics, and then Hayley did a double cleanse and applied the topical numbing cream, which was a very strange sensation! She started the needling which was completely pain-free and comfortable, I didn’t have any sort of discomfort. Once the treatment was finished, she applied some Rationale products and a light tint so I could face the world again!
It was a fast treatment (about 40 minutes all up), and I was able to go straight back out again – albeit with a warning about staying out of the sun. My face felt quite hot during the day, but it wasn’t too red. I even had a lunch and a photoshoot afterwards, and nobody noticed that it was different to usual.
I used some Aspect Dr ‘Redless’ serum that night which was nice and soothing and took the redness down almost completely. Over the next few days I had some dry patches and a bit of flaking but kept using my Rationale serums and my skin felt lovely and smooth.
A week later and I have noticed a substantial difference in the appearance of my darker spots, and my skin’s texture is also smoother and firmer. It’s definitely a treatment I’ll have again!
