Get to Know Healite LED

Healite is a medical grade LED light therapy system that uses low level light therapy to gently support the skin’s own repair processes. It delivers specific wavelengths of light, including near infrared, red and blue, to modulate cellular activity, improve circulation and help calm inflammation without heat or damage.

At Ocean Cosmetics in Perth, Healite LED is used within a doctor led treatment plan. We look at your main concerns such as redness, sensitivity, breakouts, slow healing or dullness, then choose LED protocols that match your skin and any other treatments you are having. Healite can be a stand alone treatment or an add on to support recovery after peels, laser, skin needling or injectables.

During treatment, the Healite panels are positioned over the treatment area and emit light at carefully controlled wavelengths, often 830 nm near infrared combined with 590 nm, plus optional 633 nm red or 415 nm blue in selected protocols. These wavelengths penetrate to different depths, where they can influence cellular energy, reduce inflammatory signals and support collagen and tissue repair. The treatment feels warm and relaxing.

Because it is non invasive and does not break the skin, Healite LED is suitable for many skin types and ages. It is often used regularly as part of an ageing well or skin health plan to quietly support resilience in the background of your other treatments.

Treatable Concerns

Helps support healing after peels, laser, skin needling and cosmetic procedures by reducing redness, swelling and discomfort.

Can soothe irritated or reactive skin by using wavelengths that reduce inflammatory responses and support a healthier environment.

Blue light and combination protocols can help target acne causing bacteria and support clearer looking skin as part of a broader acne plan.

Near infrared and red light can support collagen, circulation and cellular repair, helping skin look smoother and more resilient over time.

Improves overall skin vitality by supporting cellular energy and more even light reflection so skin looks fresher and more radiant.

Ideal for

Healite LED is ideal for people looking for a gentle, no downtime treatment to support skin health on its own or around other procedures. It suits clients who notice redness, sensitivity, breakouts or dullness, or who want to recover more comfortably and confidently after clinical treatments.

It is also a good option for those who are early in their skin journey and want to invest in long term skin quality without strong resurfacing. Suitability is always confirmed by a doctor or experienced clinician, taking into account your skin type, medical history, medications, light sensitivity and recent treatments.

Treatment Journey

Your journey starts with a consultation in our doctor led clinic. We discuss your concerns, medical and skin history and any treatments you already have at Ocean. Your doctor or clinician examines your skin for redness, acne, pigment, fine lines and barrier health, then explains how Healite LED works, which wavelengths may be used for you and how it fits within your plan.

  • Keep the treatment area free from heavy makeup, thick occlusive products or fake tan.

  • Avoid applying strong active skincare, such as high strength acids or retinoids, immediately before your appointment unless approved by your clinician.

  • Let us know about any light sensitive conditions, migraines, epilepsy, photosensitising medications or recent changes to your health.

  • Protect your skin from sunburn or significant irritation in the lead up to your session.

We will explain which concerns we are targeting, how long the session will take and what the light will look and feel like.

  • Most people can resume normal activities straight away, with no downtime.

  • Mild warmth or pinkness can occur and usually settles within minutes to hours.

  • Use gentle, hydrating skincare and follow any product recommendations from your clinician.

  • Wear daily broad spectrum sunscreen to support your results and protect your skin.

  • Avoid harsh scrubs or introducing strong new actives immediately after treatment unless they are part of your existing plan.

  • Attend review appointments so we can monitor your response and adjust your Healite schedule as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Healite LED is non invasive and most people find it comfortable and relaxing. You may feel gentle warmth from the lights, but there is no burning or stinging, and no need for numbing.

The number of sessions depends on your concerns and goals. Many people start with one to two sessions per week for several weeks, then move to maintenance as advised by their doctor or clinician.

There is usually no downtime. You might notice mild warmth or pinkness that settles quickly, and most people feel comfortable returning to work or daily activities straight after treatment.

LED light therapy is generally suitable for a wide range of skin types and tones because it does not rely on heat or pigment targeting in the same way as some lasers. Your clinician will check for any light sensitive conditions or medications that might make LED unsuitable for you.

Yes. Healite LED is often used immediately after procedures such as peels, laser, RF microneedling or injectables to help calm redness and support recovery. Protocols and timing are chosen by your doctor to match the treatment you have had.

Some people notice that their skin looks calmer and more refreshed after the first few sessions. Improvements in redness, acne and fine lines usually build gradually as treatments continue and are combined with good skincare and sun protection.

Healite LED is usually used as a supportive treatment rather than a complete replacement for other therapies. It can enhance the outcomes of peels, laser, injectables and medical skincare within a doctor designed plan focused on long term skin health.

Healite LED may not be suitable if you have certain light sensitive conditions, take photosensitising medications or have a history of light triggered seizures. At your consultation, we review your medical history in detail to make sure LED is safe for you.
