What does the evidence tell us?
Clinical research into sequential monopolar-bipolar radiofrequency continues to develop.
A 2026 prospective study investigated a single DENSITY Noir treatment in 26 adults with mild-to-moderate lower facial laxity. Twenty-three participants completed follow-up, with statistically significant improvements in facial laxity scores reported at one, three and six months.
The study also reported generally transient treatment-related effects including redness, swelling and mild procedural discomfort.
While these findings are encouraging, the study was relatively small, did not include a control group and received manufacturer funding. Further independent and controlled research is required to better establish long-term efficacy.
At Ocean Cosmetics, emerging technology is considered alongside the available clinical evidence, individual patient assessment and practitioner experience.
