Get to Know HydraFacial

HydraFacial is a non invasive, device based facial that combines deep cleansing, gentle exfoliation, painless extractions and targeted hydration in one treatment. It is designed to clear debris from the skin while infusing hydrating and antioxidant rich serums, so skin feels clean, comfortable and well supported.

At Ocean Cosmetics in Perth, HydraFacial is part of a doctor led approach to skin health. We look at your texture, pores, breakouts, pigment and glow, along with your lifestyle and other treatments, before tailoring the HydraFacial steps and boosters to your skin on the day.

During treatment, the HydraFacial handpiece uses a gentle vortex like suction to lift away impurities while delivering solutions to the skin. The key steps include cleansing and exfoliation, a light peel, painless extractions and hydration with moisturising and antioxidant serums. The surface of the skin is not abraded or stripped, which makes HydraFacial suitable for many skin types, including some sensitive skins.

HydraFacial can be a stand alone refresh or part of a structured program for concerns like congestion, pigment or early ageing. At Ocean, it is often combined over time with OCC Peels, light based therapies and regenerative treatments as part of a long term plan.

Treatment Journey

Your journey begins with a consultation in our doctor led clinic. We discuss your main concerns, review your medical and skin history and examine your skin for congestion, sensitivity, pigment and texture. Together we decide whether HydraFacial is appropriate, which areas to treat and which boosters or add ons are best suited to you.

  • You may be asked to pause strong active skincare such as retinoids and exfoliating acids for a set period before treatment.

  • Keep the treatment area free from open cuts, active cold sores, significant rashes or infected acne.

  • Avoid recent tanning, sunburn or self tan on the face, neck or treated body areas.

  • Arrive with clean skin and no makeup or heavy skincare on the treatment areas.

  • Let your clinician know about any new medications, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding and recent cosmetic procedures.

  • We will explain the HydraFacial steps, how it feels, which concerns we are targeting and what to expect afterwards.
  • Mild pinkness or a feeling of tightness can occur and usually settles within a few hours.

  • Your skin may look very fresh and feel smooth and clean straight after treatment.

  • Use gentle, hydrating skincare as recommended and avoid scrubs, strong acids and retinoids for the period advised by your clinician.

  • Wear daily broad spectrum sunscreen and avoid deliberate tanning, hot showers, saunas and intense exercise immediately after treatment.

  • Do not pick at any small blemishes that come to the surface as the skin clears.

  • Contact the clinic if you experience unexpected irritation, and attend review appointments so we can adjust your future HydraFacials as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

HydraFacial is a device based, multi step treatment that combines cleansing, exfoliation, extractions and hydration in one session. Unlike a traditional hands only facial, it uses a patented handpiece and vortex suction to deeply cleanse and infuse serums in a more consistent, targeted way.

HydraFacial can help with congestion, clogged pores, excess oil, dullness, uneven tone, mild pigment, dryness and fine, superficial lines in suitable skins. It focuses on overall skin health rather than changing facial structure.

HydraFacial is suitable for many skin types, including some sensitive skins, and is a good option if you want clearer, fresher looking skin with minimal downtime. Your suitability is always assessed in a doctor led consultation at Ocean Cosmetics.

Many clients start with a series of treatments every four to six weeks, then move to maintenance as advised. The number of sessions depends on your concerns, how your skin responds and how HydraFacial fits with your other treatments.

HydraFacial is usually very comfortable. You may feel gentle suction and a cool, wet sensation as the handpiece moves across your skin. Most people find it relaxing and do not need any numbing.

Downtime is generally minimal. You might have mild redness or sensitivity for a few hours, but most people feel comfortable returning to work and day to day activities right away.

Many people notice smoother, fresher and more radiant looking skin immediately after treatment. Improvements in congestion, tone and fine lines usually build gradually with regular sessions and good home care.

HydraFacial is designed to be suitable for a wide range of skin types and tones because it is non abrasive and customisable. Extra care is taken in very sensitive or pigment prone skins, and settings and solutions are chosen for your needs.

Yes. HydraFacial protocols can be adapted for areas such as the back in suitable clients, and may help with congestion and post breakout marks as part of a broader back acne plan at Ocean Cosmetics.

HydraFacial is often combined over time with OCC Peels, facials, laser, RF and regenerative treatments, though not all on the same day. Your doctor or clinician will design a sequence that supports skin health, healing and your long term goals.
