Ocean Cosmetics are excited to introduce the Cristal® Medical Cryolipolysis system to the clinic. We apply the applicator to the body area we are focusing on for the treatment, decided in your consultation. It feels cold and in most cases, includes using suction to the localised area. It may be a bit of a cold shock to begin with but becomes tolerable after a few minutes.
The applicator cools the fat cells to the point where they are ‘crystalised’ and then expelled by the body. One to three treatments may be required, although this will depend on the total fat present in the treatment area.
After the treatment, the area is massaged and you may carry on with your day without any side effects. Occasionally you may feel slight tenderness at the treatment area the next day.
Results will show at a minimum of 12 weeks. Your nurse or therapist will create a plan to suit you and your body for treatments going forward. This may include treating surrounding areas to produce the desired results.
Typically when we lose weight, our fat cells shrink in size. If we put weight back on these fat cells increase in size again. After cryolipolysis freezing, the fat cells are permanently destroyed.
You won’t need any downtime with this treatment. We recommend to increase your water intake, avoid alcohol for at least seven days and to continue with your regular activity or exercise.
