As I’m getting closer to my 40’s, I’ve started to notice the area around my eyes, and my skin, in general, is not as clear and smooth as it was in my 20’s. This is a natural process of ageing, as the collagen levels in your body start to drop. Basically, this means that your skin starts to look less firm and plump and lines and wrinkles will start to appear. I really wanted to prevent the small lines around my eyes from deepening and keep the skin looking young, fresh and smooth.

Previously I’ve had Fractional Skin Resurfacing (FSR) on my face and loved the results. Then I found out about a specialised eye treatment combining tightening and FSR – The Endybleph treatment. As I’m a therapist here at Ocean Cosmetics myself, when I looked into the benefits I thought this would be fantastic for my eyes.

Whilst EndyBleph isn’t exactly the easiest treatment name to remember, it’s essentially an eye rejuvenation alternative to relaxers, fillers and surgery.

My experience with the EndyBleph treatment
This treatment is split into two stages, which began with the EndyMed Radio Frequency (RF) Skin Tightening hand piece. I didn’t experience any discomfort during the treatment, just some heat to the area – it felt almost like a hot stone massage – a lot of my clients also quite enjoy the warm sensation! This heat penetrates deep to target the fibroblast cells to produce new collagen (the ‘building block’ protein of youthful skin).

After this, the skin around my eyes was treated with FSR. This heat feels more like prickly heat, however it is over very quickly in less than one minute per eye. I had some topical anaesthetic applied beforehand which helped to make it more tolerable.

FSR also utilises RF for tightening with micro fractional ablation to resurface the skin resulting in newer younger looking skin. This makes it great for creating a smoother texture and reducing fine lines.

Just so that the rest of my face didn’t feel left out, I also had skin needling. This is one of my favourite treatments, I love skin needling! It renews and brightens the skin, improving both texture and tone. There are so many benefits to the skin with very little discomfort and downtime.

What are the side effects with EndyBleph?
A big bonus about the treatment for me was that I wouldn’t have any bruising and very little downtime. In fact, I would say I didn’t have any downtime at all.

After the treatment my skin felt sensitive, it was a little hot and prickly for a couple of hours and a little pink, like a mild sunburn. However, the redness had almost completely subsided by the evening.

For optimal results, it is recommended to have between 3-6 treatments. I’m going to have four more EndyBleph eye treatments and another two skin needling or FSR for my face over the next 3-4 months to tighten and smooth the skin around my eyes and brighten my skin overall. So, look out for my before and after pictures in a few week’s time!

A good at home skin care routine is just as important as visiting the clinic, so I’ll also be using the RATIONALE DNA eye cream around my eyes to firm and hydrate, with RATIONALE Serum 6 DNS Repair serum which I have found amazing for my skin over the last 2 years. And of course, I always use my RATIONALE B3-T SPF to protect from harmful UV rays.
